Impact Hub Malaysia organised the Design for Change, Malaysia workshop which uses simplified design thinking methodology to develop socially conscious and globally competent youths that go on to implement social impact projects. The complimentary session took place on 11 May 2019 at the PJ Campus of Brickfields Asia College. It was attended by 7 participants within the age of 18-24.
The session started with a brief presentation that showcased social impact stories from around the world by students with an emphasis on the United Nation’s 17 models of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). After the presentation, the participants were then guided on the ways to solve issues using the simplified design thinking methodology (FIDS) which involves 2 steps.
Firstly, by grasping the issues at hand and secondly to think of solutions that can assist to mitigate the issues by imagining a world where these issues do not exist. Subsequently, the participants were given time to share the solutions with other participants and receive feedback from the floor.
