Doctoral researcher from Tilburg University Ms Kirandeep Kaur organised a
complementary legal awareness training with Malaysian-registered NGO Asylum Access Malaysia (AAM) on Thursday, 14 December 2017. The workshop was attended by 25 refugees and held at BAC’s KL Campus from 6pm-8pm. The venue was provided complimentarily by the Make It Right Movement. Ms Kirandeep specialises in training refugees from different backgrounds to support their community projects on social entrepreneurship, disability, sexual and gender-based violence and more.
Launched in 2014, AAM offers direct legal services for refugees and asylum seekers, conducts Know-Your- Options trainings, and engages with UNHCR and other stakeholders in Malaysia’s refugee rights movement.
