Society for the Severely Mentally Handicapped- Charity Art Exhibition Painting From the Heart: Art For Good
The Society for the Severely Mentally Handicapped (SSMH) organised a five-day charity art exhibition from 20th– 24th February 2019 at the Concourse Level of Bangsar Shopping Centre. The art exhibition this year entitled “Painting from the Heart: Art for Good” celebrated the theme of multiculturalism. The event was supported by the Make It Right Movement powered by Brickfields Asia College.
Over 100 artworks from more than 20 established and emerging Malaysian artists were showcased in the art exhibition. A substantial percentage of the proceeds of the sale were contributed to SSMH’s Training Centre for its maintenance, including the purchase of daily necessities and medical treatment for the children’s well-being.
SSMH is a voluntary welfare organisation which provides rehabilitation facilities to children and youth with severe mental and physical disabilities. The organisation is also a front runner in raising public awareness about children and youth with severe and multiple disabilities.
