Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO) held a Crisis Support Officer Training which was carried out for three days from 6th, 12th and 13th May 2018 to recruit and train volunteers to provide professional assistance to women in crisis. The training was attended by close to 80 participants and was carried out at the PJ Campus, Brickfields Asia College.
The participants were given intensive lessons on areas such as Psychological first aid, Self-care, active listening and Stimulation of unwarranted situations by various speakers who are well verse at their respective topics. They were also provided with some legal advises which may benefit the women in crisis which they would assist in the future.
WAO is a non-government organization which was established with the aim to create a society that is free of violence against women by promoting and creating a respectable and equal platform between men and women by working towards the elimination of discrimination against women.
