Pusat Komunikasi Masyarakat (KOMAS), Freedom Film Network and PROHAM in partnership with Make It Right Movement co-organised a significant forum known as the Film Censorship Law Forum. There were 4 prominent speakers, coming from respective industries, namely Mr. Shahredzan Johan, Ms. Tan Chui Mui, Ms. Lina Tan and Datuk Kamil Othman. This panel was moderated by the Executive Director of Freedom Film Network, Ms. Anna Har. Among the topics discussed were: • The recent Act enacted by the Parliament (the Film Censorship Act) – “Will this threaten the freedom of expression and the vibrancy of cinemas in Malaysia”? • “Is it necessary to have the Censorship Board at this era-or is it subject to redundancy already”? The forum took place on the 27th of April 2017 from 7.30 – 11pm at the Liverpool Room, Brickfields Asia College, PJ Campus and attracted over 120 participants consisting of film students, industry professionals and many others.
