The Society for the Severely Mentally Handicapped (SSMH) organised a two-day charity carnival over the weekend of 21st & 22nd of October 2017 at Bangsar Village 1. Themed “Colour My World”, the event was sponsored by the M’ake It Right Movement powered by Brickfields Asia College to raise funds for severely and mentally handicapped children. Shoppers contributed to the fund by purchasing coupon booklets worth RM50 each and had fun browsing the various stalls selling SSMH merchandise, jewellery, and plenty of art and crafts from all over the world. There were also food and beverage stalls selling a wide range of delicacies to keep the public satiated, and games to keep the children occupied. The highlight of the day was the opportunity to take photos with Star Wars characters for a small fee! All proceeds raised during this event will be channelled to the maintenance of the SSMH centre, and the children’s’ well-being including their daily necessities and medical treatment.
