Brian Lariche, Head of Community Development at BAC’s Make it Right Movement (MIRM), spoke at a TEDxYouth programme for students of SMK Sungai Damit in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Held on Friday, 18th of August 2017, the one-day programme sought to expose students to the art of public speaking — especially in English — and give students a platform to speak on ideas and topics that they are passionate about. Themed “Stand Up”, Brian’s talk, “Brand Yourself”, centred on understanding one’s strengths and capabilities, and making them a part of one’s identity. The programme was attended by 150 individuals and saw participants speaking on topics such as standing up to bullies, the fear of failure and the courage to speak. The banner and T-shirts for the event was designed and made by MIRM.
